The East Clarendon Wolverines edged the Lake View Wild Gators 7-5 in varsity baseball played in Turbeville on Thursday, March 28.
The Wild Gators scored a run in the top of the first inning. East Clarendon responded with 3 runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 3-1 lead. Lake View placed a run on the scoreboard in the top of the third inning to cut the lead to 1. The Wolverines responded with a run in the bottom of the third. Lake View added another run in the top of the fourth to cut East Clarendon’s lead to 1 again. In the bottom of the fifth inning, East Clarendon added 3 runs to take a 4-run lead. The Wild Gators added a run in the top of the sixth and another run in the top of the seventh inning.
East Clarendon connected for 11 hits led by Kyler Odom who went 3 for 3 with 3 rbi. Ashton Mixon had 3 hits in 4 at-bats.
Lake View had 9 hits. Hunter Herlong had a double and 2 rbi in his 4 at-bats. Thomas Skipper had a double and a rbi in his 4 at-bats. Jett Lewis had 2 hits in his 4 at-bats.
Kyler Odom picked up the win. He pitched 5 innings and allowed 5 hits, 3 runs of which 2 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 4.

Lake View will host Green Sea Floyds at 5:30 p.m. today (Tuesday, April 2).
