Dillon Christian Gets Win Over Eagles

The Dillon Christian School Warriors returned home from Mullins on Tuesday, March 26, with a 12-6 win over Pee Dee Academy in varsity baseball.
Pee Dee Academy took a 3-run lead in the bottom of the first inning and added a run in the bottom of the third inning and was up on Dillon by 4 runs before Dillon could place runs on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning to cut the lead to 2 runs. Dillon Christian School knotted the score at 4 in the top of the fifth inning. Dillon added another run in the top of the sixth inning to go up 5-4. However, Pee Dee took a 1-run lead in the bottom of the sixth inning by placing 2 runs on the scoreboard. Dillon had a tremendous seventh inning and added 7 runs to claim the win.
Dillon’s John Rourke connected for 2 hits and 3 rbi in his 4 at-bats.
Pee Dee’s Ryan Brewer was perfect at the plate with 3 hits and a rbi in his 3 at-bats. Caleb Oakley also was perfect at the plate with a triple, a single, and 2 rbi in his 2 at-bats. Colton Caulder had a triple and 2 rbi in his 3 at-bats.
Cooper Lane picked up the win. He pitched 4 innings and allowed 5 hits, 2 earned runs, walked 3, and struck out 5.
Dylan Hotaling was charged with the loss. He pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed 1 hit, 3 runs, 1 earned run, walked 1, and struck out 1.
Dillon Christian School will host Thomas Sumter today (Tuesday, April 2) at 5:00 p.m.
