The Dillon Lady Wildcats picked up the tenth win of the season against the Marion Swamp Foxes by a score of 55-33 in varsity basketball action played in Dillon on Tuesday, January 22.
Dillon took an early 13-6 lead after the first period of play. By halftime Dillon led 22-12. After 3 periods of play Dillon was up 36-23.
Dillon’s Shantazia Gordon led all scorers with 24 points. She connected on eleven 2-point baskets and was perfect at the free throw line with 2 points. Jykya Bell scored 11 points while Alyse Hines added 6 points. Chyna Pouncey got on the scoreboard with 5 points. Ja’Rhonda McCrimmon connected for 3 points, and Maleah Carter, Shaniya Page, and Andrianna Ervin each scored 2 points.
K. Britt led the Lady Swamp Foxes with 8 points followed by Y. Buey, M. Moody, K. Barnes, and I. Lester who each placed 4 points on the scoreboard. P. Davis added 3 points, and K. McClam also connected for a free throw.
Dillon committed 7 fouls in the first half and 10 in the second half while Marion committed 7 in the first half and 7 fouls in the second half.
Dillon will host Aynor on Friday, January 25, at 6:00 p.m.
