Warriors Get Overtime Win Over Carolina Academy

The Dillon Christian School Warriors varsity boys captured a 2-point overtime win, 40-38, over visiting Carolina Academy on Thursday, January 3.
The contest was evenly matched with the score knotted at 7 each after the first period of play. At halftime the Warriors held a slim 1-point lead, 15-14. After the end of 3 periods of play the Warriors found themselves trailing by 2 points , 27-25. Dillon Christian School tied the game at 36 after regulation play to force an overtime period.
The Warriors’ Ian Bethea led all scorers with 13 points. The Warriors’ Ty Dubose added 7 points but also contributed 12 rebounds. Phillip Campbell connected for 10 points in the contest. Walt Bailey added 4 points for the Warriors while J. Dubose and Brewington each had 3 points.
Matt Gaskins led Carolina Academy with 12 points while Cade Castles added 11 points. Lamb sank 8 points in the contest while Joye added 4 and Long added 2. Sauls also got on the scoreboard with a point of his own.
Dillon Christian School will travel today (Tuesday, January 8) to Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m.
