Warriors Drop Loss To Pee Dee Academy

The Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors dropped a 1-point 35-34 loss to visiting Pee Dee Academy on Friday, January 11.
The Lady Warriors took an early 7-1 lead after the first period of play but Pee Dee Academy outscored Dillon Christian 18-5 to take a 7-point lead at halftime, 19-12. By the end of the third period, the Lady Warriors had cut the lead to only 4 points.
The Lady Warriors led most of the fourth period but came up short minute of play on free throws by Pee Dee Academy’s Sally Brown who was also the leading scorer with a game-high 18 points and Lauren Eskridge who each sank 2 free throws.
The Lady Warriors still had hope to tie with a 3-point basket to force overtime but came up short when the shooter’s foot came across the 3-point line.
Pee Dee Academy’s Martin connected 9 points while Caulder added 3 points. Eskridge and L. Johnson each had 2 points in the win. T. Johnson also added a point.

The Lady Warriors’ Anna Thompson and Taren Dubose each scored 10 points while Sarah Stone connected for 6 points. Freeman added 5, and Lizzie Outlar had 2 points.
