Renowned Children’s Author Visits Schools

The Dillon District Four Schools and the Latta Schools Educational Foundation brought renowned children’s author and speaker, David Schwartz, to the schools and the community on November 26 and 27.
Schwartz is an “Ambassador for Math,” helping children make connections between math and their world. Schwartz is an author, former teacher and a presenter who invites children of all ages to ask BIG QUESTIONS-Why? How much? Where?.
In 1985, he published his first book (“How Much Is a Million?), and it has sold over a million copies.
Since then, he has published 50 more books that explore math and science.
He wants to encourage children to observe the world around them, to ponder and to look at science and mathematics in dramatic new ways
Students were captivated by his very educational presentations.
