Fork Presbyterian Church Kicks Off Christmas With Musical Performance

The Fork Presbyterian Church Choir celebrated the “most wonderful time of the year” with an outstanding musical performance on Sunday.
The service began with a prelude by Daphne Hayes and the lighting of the candles by Luke Rogers.
Rev. Adrienne Anderson said this was the first Sunday of Advent and explained that the wreath had no beginning and no end just like God. She said it represents hope, peace, love, and the joy that only comes from Jesus Christ. She said that Advent is the time that prepares us for the coming of Christ, and she hoped that the musical would prepare everyone in attendance for the Christmas season.
The scripture of hope, Jeremiah 29:11 and Micah 7:7 was read followed by a prayer of hope and the lighting of the candle of hope by John and Pat Carmichael. The choral response by the audience was “A Candle Is Burning.” “A candle is burning, a flame warm and bright, A candle of HOPE in December’s dark night, While angels sing blessings from Heaven’s bright sky, Our hearts we prepare for Jesus is neigh.”
The congregation sang “O Come, Let Us Adore Him.”
The Christmas Choir entered. Members of the choir are (* denotes a guest singer): Summerlyn Anderson, Cheryl Grice, Kirk Hamilton*, Daphne Hayes, Nicholas Hunsinger, James David Lane, Wanda Moody, Gwen Morgan*, Elaine McLean*, Bobby Perritte, L.R. Perritte, Sandra Perritte, Ken Scott, Vick Scott*, and Christie Strickland*.
The program was called “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of The Year.” Songs performed were: It’s The Most Wonderful Time of The Year; It’s Wonderful; Christmas Favorites Medley—Deck the Halls, Jingle Bells, Angels We Have Heard On High, Joy To the World; The Little Drummer Boy; Go Tell It with Go, Tell It On The Mountain; Manger Medley-Away In A Manger, What Child is This?; Let There Be Peace On Earth, and the finale.
After the program, everyone congratulated the choir on their performance.
