On Friday, November 23, 2018 just before 7:30 p.m. the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Queen Court in Hamer in reference to shots fired and a person shot,according to Captain Cliff Arnette.
Upon arrival of law enforcement, deputies learned that there was a female victim that had been shot and was deceased at a residence.
Coroner Donnie Grimsley identifies the victim as Ashley Blackmon, age 24, of the Hamer area.
Jamel Rasun Dow, age 28, of Hamer was arrested and charged with murder and is currently in custody at the Dillon County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
The murder is currently under investigation by the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and the Dillon County Coroner’s Office.
