New Horticulture Agent Joins Clemson Extension

Callen Outen has recently joined Clemson Extension as the Horticulture Agent for Dillon and Marlboro Counties.

Her primary responsibilities will be consumer horticulture, small farms, and the Master Gardener Program in the two counties. Callen received her both a Masters in Agricultural Education and Bachelor of Science in Wildlife & Fisheries Biology from Clemson University.
Callen and her husband, Tyler Outen, are natives of Lancaster, South Carolina. The Outens recently moved to the area after both teaching Agricultural Education in Toombs County, Georgia. Tyler Outen is the new Agricultural Education teacher and FFA Advisor at Latta High School. Callen draws her inspiration from a family background in the horticulture industry and an overall love and appreciation for nature and the environment.
Callen is excited to begin this adventure with Clemson Extension and is looking forward to serving the citizens of Dillon and Marlboro Counties.
