October Meeting
The Dillon Area Chapter #5336 of AARP, Inc. met on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dillon County Emergency 9-1-1 Communications Center with fifteen members in attendance.
Director Sonny McRae cordially welcomed the group and explained how the tour would be conducted.
Groups of five were taken through the communications center and the guide explained how calls received are handled. To see the operators at work was most interesting, and much important information was given. Smart 9-1-1 was explained and is another useful tool to meet 9-1-1 needs of the citizens of Dillon County.
All opening rituals and business items of the meeting were dispensed with in order to provide ample time for the most interesting tour of the communications center.
Mr. McRae and his staff treated members with delicious refreshments and presented each one with a cup and pens. The 9-1-1 staff members were graciously thanked for their information and hospitality.
