Senate Report: Disaster Recovery

As the flood waters begin to recede, please continue to help in any way that you can. Picking up the pieces is going to be a lengthy, difficult process for far too many.
Do not forget about our fellow South Carolinians in the upcoming months.
For those of you that have personally been affected or have family and friends that are affected please share the information below.
Survivors who sustained losses in the designated counties can apply for federal assistance by registering online at DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362. Assistance can include money for temporary rental assistance and essential home repairs for primary homes, low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help survivors recover from the effects of the disaster.
Disaster assistance applicants who are deaf, hard of hearing or have a speech disability and use a TTY may call 800-462-7585.
Those who use 711 or Video Relay Service may call 800-621-3362. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week until further notice.
Homeowners if you were affected by Hurricane Florence and need help in cleaning up, please register at www.crisiscleanup.org or call 800-451-1954. You must be in the system so the volunteers will have your name, address and contact information to start with the process.
If you have questions you may contact Brian Nolan at 843-250-4322. Local reputable and vetted relief organizations can help with trees, mucking out, tarping, removal of drywall, insulations, flooring, furniture appliances etc. Volunteers work free of charge and provide the tools and equipment necessary to complete work. However, service is not guaranteed due to overwhelming need. Please note that this hotline cannot assist with social services such as food, clothing, shelter, insurance or questions about FEMA registration.
