Dillon City Fire Chief Comments On First Responder Efforts

City of Dillon Fire Chief Keith Bailey commented on the first responder efforts in Dillon:
I want to thank each and everyone of our first responders for the work that they have done over the last several days . They are so many agencies that have worked so hard to keep people safe. They have been many rescues over the last few days throughout Dillon County and I have had the pleasure to work with many out standing men and women some that have come from as far as Miami, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and from the upstate of South Carolina, the state guard, and the national guard. We have had many Swift water rescue teams, urban search and rescue teams and some high water vehicles out doing rescues. The members of the City of Dillon Fire department, Dillon Rescue, Dillon County EMS, City of Dillon Police Department along with all of the other local agencies in our county did an outstanding job with the resources that we had and we saved a lot of people when Hurricane Florence hit us in the city limits of Dillon . The City of Dillon Fire Department and City of Dillon wellness center is housing around a 150 first responders and military personnel.
I want to thank the public for everything that they have done to help us in this Hurricane. I want to especially thank our City Manager Glen Wagner and Mayor Todd Davis for all of the support that they have given me during this event.
We are not done yet; we still have major flooding throughout our county, I ask for everyone to please be safe and do not drive through flooded areas and for everyone to pray for all of our first responders as we get through this.
I also want to thank everyone for the support that has been given to me.
