Forrest Lee Peck

Forrest Lee Peck, age 79, of Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly of Monroe, passed away peacefully at 4:55 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16th surrounded by family and loved ones at his son’s home while under the care of Great Lakes Hospice.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, August 18th at Rupp Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be at 7 p.m. with Rev. Heather Boone, Pastor of Oaks of Righteousness Church officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 21st at Cooper Funeral Home in Dillon, SC and funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22nd at Shiloh Chapel with burial in the church cemetery.
Born February 14, 1939 in Fort Gay, West Virginia, Forrest was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Asher) Peck. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army from December 3, 1958 to January 30, 1965.
Forrest married Jeannie L. Wiggins on July 27, 1979 in Dillon, South Carolina. He had been employed as Maintenance Supervisor for Penske Truck Rental in Spartanburg, South Carolina, retiring in 2004. He was a member of Free and Accepted Masons and loved to fish. He was an avid fan of Atlanta Braves baseball and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Forrest is survived by his wife Jeannie oPunta Gorda; four sons, Timothy (April) Peck of Monroe, Daniel (Mercedes) Peck of Cleveland, Ohio, James (Kim) Kicklighter of Bent Road, Virginia, and Christopher Kicklighter of Spartanburg, South Carolina; a daughter, Christina Younglove of Erie, Michigan; sister, Gladys Skaggs of Surprise, Arizona; six grandchildren: Heather Kicklighter Eddy, Jessica Kicklighter, Forrest Peck, II, AnnaBelle Peck, Gabriella Peck, and Lydia Kicklighter; and two great-grandchildren, Jonah and Reid Eddy.
In addition to his parents, Forrest is also preceded in death by a sister, Sally Moore.
