PHOTO GALLERY: Lake View Hands Loss To Fairmont In Lumberton Jamboree

he Lake View Wild Gators held the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes scoreless in the 16-0 scrimmage game played in Lumberton on Thursday, August 9, at 6:00 p.m.
On the first play from scrimmage, the Tornadoes were dropped for a loss by the Lake View defensive squad. The Lake View squad continued to play well on defense.
Lake View took over on downs and completed a pass before Fairmont managed to take over on downs.
In a back and forth defensive battle Lake View recovered a fumble and began to move the ball.
Lake View’s Benji Kelley carried for 9 yards. On the next play Dylan Bullock scored a 45-yard touchdown.
Adarrian Dawkins for the Wild Gators converted the 2-point play to give Lake View an 8-0 lead.
The Golden Tornadoes managed a first down and picked up 2 yards on Waters run.
Lake View’s Tahja Nesmith intercepted a pass by Fairmont’s #4.
At halftime, Fairmont led 8-0.
On the first play of the second half, Lake View’s Benji Kelley carried for a first down. A bad snap set Lake View back 15 yards. The Wild Gators were stopped and elected to take a 35-yard “punt” according to the rules.
Lake View managed to take over on downs and once again began to move the ball. Kelley carried the ball to the 6-yard line. Adarrian Dawkins was dragged down at the 5-yard line.
Jalik Roberts for Lake View was on the receiving end of a pass by Shiyon Gilchrist for a touchdown.
Gilchrist converted a 2-point pass to Aikeen Rogers to give Lake View a 16-0 lead.
Lake View’s defense once again held, and the Wild Gators took over on downs.
The Golden Tornadoes held Lake View and managed to take over on downs only to be intercepted by Lake View’s Tahja Nesmith.
The action continued back and forth until the final buzzer.
