Mr. Wade Humphrey, 85 died Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the home of his daughter-in-law after an illness.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Cooke Funeral Chapel, Lake View, SC. Burial will follow at Lake View Perpetual Cemetery directed by Cooke Funeral Home of Lake View.
Mr. Humphrey was born in Dillon County, the son of the late Boyd and Leona Lee Hayes Humphrey. Mr. Humphrey was a retired veteran of the US Army and he retired from Westrock Paper Mill in Florence, SC. He loved growing plants and flowers and playing with his great grandchildren.
Surviving Mr. Humphrey are his sons, John M. Humphrey (Stacy) of Jacksonville, NC and Michael D. Humphrey of Fork, SC; daughter-in-law, Lisa A. Sawyer Humphrey of Fork, SC; step-mother, Nellie Smith Humphrey; brothers, James “Jim” Humphrey, Ronnie Humphrey, Keith Humphrey, John S. Humphrey, Jackie Humphrey and Johnny Humphrey; sisters, Fannie Lee “Sissy” Nobles, Shirley H. Adams, Ann Helen H. Lee, Betty Jean H. Lee, Christian H. Bailey and Linda H. Singleton; grandchildren, Marshall (Miranda) Humphrey, Zachary Humphrey, Staci Humphrey, Johnny (Rashelle) Sarabeth, Charlie Humphrey, Sheena Rae Fix, and Dylan Smith; 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Humphrey was preceded in death by his wives, Betty Russ Humphrey and Betty Fisher Humphrey; sons, Stephen W. Humphrey and Lawrance A. Humphrey; brother, Clyde M. Humphrey and sisters, Anne Bell Hayes, Annie Lee Humphrey, and Ernestine Humphrey.
