Mount Calvary Baptist Church Gets New Pastor

Pastor Harold Cooke returns to Dillon after 35 years to serve as pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
He is the son of Martha Cooke and the late Grady Cooke. Harold is a 1982 graduate of Dillon High School. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for three years, 1983-1986. After his military service he joined the South Carolina Highway Patrol and was stationed in Chesterfield County. There he met his wife Tamera. They have been married for 30 years. Harold and Tamera have two sons, Grant (Kristin) and Nick (Toni). They have two grandchildren.

While working with the highway patrol, Harold and Tamera became involved in youth ministry as volunteers. After a decade in this capacity God called Harold into the ministry. He retired from the highway patrol to enter into the ministry full time. When he retired he received his bachelor’s degree in religion and his master’s degree in Christian Ministry (Pastoral Counseling) from Liberty University.
Since his retirement Harold has served as an associate pastor at Westfield Creek Baptist Church in Cheraw, SC (2009-2010) and the pastor of Fairview Baptist in Mt. Croghan, SC (2010-2018). He and Tamera are excited about the opportunity to come back to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, the place where his spiritual journey began when he was just a boy. He believes that every Christian should have core values. These core values include seeking God, loving people and making disciples.
Pastor Cooke and the congregation of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church invites you and your family to come and worship with us.
