Mrs. Christine Huggins, 74, widow of the late Reddy Huggins, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Carolina’s Hospital System in Marion, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Dillon County, SC, on August 28, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Roy Carter and Louise Ammons Carter. She worked for 29 years with Dixiana Mills and retired from Perdue Farms after 10 years of service and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, loved listening to southern gospel music, and watching her favorite baseball team the Atlanta Braves. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Billy Ray Huggins(Elke) of Dillon; a daughter, Donnia Huggins Lee of Dillon; sister, Irene Grimsley of Hamer; brother, Bobby Carter (Margaret) of Dillon; grandchildren, Cindy Butkiewzc, Daniel Zevotek, Jr., Josh Caulder, Crystal Lee and Robbie Lee; great-grandchildren, Tyler Butkiewzc, Emma Rose Caulder, Allison Haselden, Daniel Zevotek, III, Eliza Faith Caulder and Sarah Grace Arnette.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above; by sisters, Rachael Owens and Virginia Kernodle and by brothers, Bill, Lamar and Jimmy Carter.
