Richard Larry Jackson left this earthly existence in the early hours of April 13 2018 to rest forever in the arms of the savior.
Richard was born December 7, 1951 to the late James Walter Jackson and his wife the late Bessie Morris Jackson in Marion, SC. He attended school in Dillon and graduated from Dillon High School in 1969. He went on to graduate from Francis Marion with an English degree.
After college, Richard left the comforts of home to live in various locations including a year in Germany and a stint in an apartment above Bourbon street in New Orleans and eventually his beloved Folly Beach.
Richard had an accident in 2005 that left him disabled physically and though he was confined to a wheelchair he was still a vibrant personality.
Richard made the most important decision of his life just before his passing by accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.
Richard is survived by his brothers Jerry (Juanita) Jackson of Lake View, Glenn (Lisa) Jackson of Dillon sister Wanda of Clio, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and two aunts. He goes HOME to be with his father, mother, sisters Roxie and Kaye and his brother, Wayne.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 12 noon at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Dillon.
