Bond Denied On Man Who Killed Five-Year-Old

Visiting Circuit Court Judge Roger Young recently denied bond for Marquise McRae, the Dillon man charged with murder for being involved in a fire fight wherein one of the bullets he fired missed the target and went into the home of a five-year-old child, killing her.

Assistant Solicitor Shipp Daniel and Detective Allan Rogers presented the Court with the facts of the case, while McRae’s attorney asked for a bond to be set.
Judge Young said the allegations are serious and indicated McRae may be a danger to the community.
Judge Young also said that McRae’s arrest in Winston Salem, North Carolina, indicated he may be a flight risk.
Daniel said there are some legal issues that have to be worked out before plea negotiations could take place.
Judge Young said that the bond ruling could be revisited in 90 days.
