Law Enforcement Agencies Issue Statement On School Incidents And Unfounded Threats

The Fourth Circuit Solicitor’s Office, the Dillon County Sheriff’s Department and the Dillon City Police Department issue this statement in response to the multiple unfounded threats and actual incidents that have recently impacted our local schools.

“The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, with the support of county council and our county school board, has been working very hard to keep our schools throughout our county as safe as possible,” said Sheriff Major Hulon. “The sheriff’s office will charge and prosecute anyone who attempts to disrupt our school in any way. Our students, faculty and staff will always be our number one priority!”

“The Dillon Police Department is committed to providing resources to our schools,” said Chief David Lane. “Threats and disruptions will not be tolerated. We will use all of our resources to identify and prosecute those individuals responsible.”

“My staff both in Dillon and circuit-wide continues to work closely with law enforcement and school officials to fairly — and strongly — prosecute those whose actions put the safety of our community’s young people at risk,” said Solicitor Will Rogers.
