James “Lewis” Rogers

BLYTHEWOOD, SC – James “Lewis” Rogers, 57, passed away January 14, 2018, in Little Rock, SC. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Main Street Methodist Church in Dillon, SC with burial in St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery in Little Rock, SC.
Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. in Asbury Hall.
He was born October 13, 1960, the son of the late Rufus Clarence Rogers, Sr. and the late Mary Elizabeth McIntyre Rogers. He attended the Dillon Schools and was a 1982 graduate of The Citadel. He was employed with CSC in Blythewood from which he retired after thirty years. In July of 2017 he went to work at Duck Creek Technologies in Columbia. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Blythewood, SC.
He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Sonja Watson Rogers, his son, James Brunson Rogers (Kendall Robinson) of Durham, NC; his daughter, Elizabeth Clare Rogers (Taylor Eubanks) of Blythewood, SC; his brothers, Rufus Clarence “Buck” Rogers, Jr. of Clio, SC and Henry Talmadge “Tam” (Diane) Rogers of Englewood, OH; his parents-in-law Dot and Hagood Watson of Dillon; sister-in-law, Jamie Sue Stephens (Neal) of Dillon, SC; nieces: Sandy Best (Al), Valerie Rogers of Dillon, SC and Dorothy Stephens of Dillon, SC; nephews: Jeff Rogers (Shannon) of Wilmington, NC, Todd Rogers (Ginny) of Macon, GA and Allen Stephens of Dillon, SC; and uncle, Robert W. (Polly) McIntyre of Dillon; and an aunt Jean Coward of Lilburn, GA. He was predeceased by his parents listed above.
