Colon Larry Hyatt

Colon Larry Hyatt, 75, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon.
Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Richie Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1:30-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Born in Dillon County, SC, July 3, 1942, he was the son of the late Colie L. Blease Hyatt and Edith Mable Coates Hyatt. He was a great outdoor sportsman, competing in deep sea fishing tournaments, racing, and he won the World Championship with his halter horse, Bucky. His racing numbers were 88 and 22. He was a member of Second Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda P. Hyatt of Dillon; daughters, Jacqueline (Rick) Gardner of Little Rock, and Sherrie Haithcock of Dillon; step-children, Page Grantham of Fairmont, NC, and Bebee Poston of Dillon; grandchildren, Quinton Gardner, Dallas Gardner, Kyle Hyatt, and Brittany Hyatt; step-grandchildren, Wyves P. Grantham, Jay Grantham, Brandy Cook, Kate Cook, and Dakota Poston; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Strickland of Dillon; brothers, Glenn (Vickie) Hyatt, and Michael (Debbie) Hyatt, both of Dillon.
