The Dillon High School Lady Wildcats broke away from the Latta Vikings in closing moments of the third quarter to claim a 51-32 win in Dillon on Wednesday, January 10.
With 1:44 remaining in the third period the game was knotted at 26.
After 3 periods of play Dillon held a 5-point, 31-26, lead over Latta.
The Wildcats held the Vikings to only 6 points in the final period while scoring 20 points.
Ja’Rhonda McCrimmon led the Wildcat varsity team with a game-high 14 points while A’Doshia Graves and Jykya Bell each scored 13 points. Chyna Pouncey and Shantazia Gordon each contributed 5 points. Jayla Goodwin garnered a free throw point.
The Vikings were led in scoring by Madelia Johnson with 10 points. Green contributed 9 points while Arica Gandy hit for 5 points. Campbell and Moya McDuffie added 3 points each. Nowlin garnered 2 points.
Dillon traveled to Lake City on Friday, January 12.
The Wildcats will host Georgetown tonight, Tuesday, January 16.
The Vikings will host Andrews tonight, Tuesday, January 16.
