The Latta Lady Vikings picked up a 44-19 win over Carvers Bay on Tuesday, January 9, in Latta.
Latta jumped out to a commanding 17-2 lead after the first period and never trailed in the game. However, Carvers Bay managed to score the same number of points in the second period as Latta which was 6.
Latta pumped in 16 points to 8 points for Carvers Bay in the third period of play while picking up 5 points to Carvers Bay 3 points in the final period.
The Vikings Moya McDuffie scored a game-high 22 points while Riana Green connected for 9 points. Arica Gandy hit for 7 points, and Johnson added 4 points while Campbell hit for 3 points. Bursdall and Green each garnered 2 points for the Vikings.
Dymin Coles connected for 11 points to lead Carvers Bay in scoring while Purcha added 4. S. Dozier hit for 3 points, and D. Dozier garnered 1 point.
Latta is 4-4 for the season and 2-1 in Region 7-2A.
The Latta Vikings traveled to Dillon on Wednesday, January 10.
