Doris Foreman

Mrs. Doris Miller Foreman, of Dillon, peacefully entered the gates of heaven on Monday, January 8, 2018 at McLeod Medical Center Dillon at the age of 83.
Doris is survived by her husband, Charles, of almost 61 years of Dillon; sister, Virginia ‘Gin’ (Doug) Miller and sister-in-law, Kate Miller both of Dillon; children, Rick (Marie) Foreman of Lumberton, NC, Donald (Pamela) Foreman of Bennettsville, Kathy (Bob) Cotton of Eden, NC; grandchildren Troy (Melinda) Foreman of Manassas, VA, Michael Foreman of Bennettsville, Robbie (Allison) Foreman of Moncks Corner, Katie (Darryl) Seals of Lumberton, NC, Virginia ‘Jenny’ (Curtis) Melton of Wallace, Austin Cotton of Eden, NC, and Zachary Foreman of Bennettsville; great-grandchildren, Marlee Ava, Emmery, and Gibson Foreman all of Moncks Corner; and many nieces and nephews.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne D. and Nell (Covington) Miller, Sr.; siblings, Wayne (Elizabeth ‘Lib’) Miller, Phillip A. Miller both of Dillon, Jackie ‘Pudgy’ (Shirley) Miller of Hartsville, Herman (Edna) Miller and Carroll ‘Pockets’ (Hope) Miller both of New Jersey; grandson Brent Williams Cotton of Eden, NC; great-granddaughter Hannah Lynn Foreman of Moncks Corner; nephew Stephen A. Miller of Dillon; and niece Anessa Lynn Miller of Hartsville.
Doris was born on June 24, 1934 in Dillon, South Carolina to Wayne D. and Nell (Covington) Miller. She graduated from Dillon High School in 1953 and played basketball for the Lady Wildcats. She worked for the Civil Service for many years in Hawaii and Georgia before joining St. Eugene Community Hospital in Dillon, where she retired after 21 years. Doris was full of life and lit up every room she entered. She loved spending time with her family and friends and attending First Baptist Church in Dillon. In her spare time she enjoyed cross-stitching, watching the Braves, shopping with her sister and sister-in-laws, playing solitaire, spoiling her grand and great-grandchildren to the fullest, and helping with summer registration at Camp Pinehill.
Visitation is scheduled for 6-8 P.M. On Thursday, January 11, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Dillon.
A celebration of Doris Miller Foreman’s life will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Dillon. Internment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. All are invited to attend and celebrate Doris’ life. Services are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, 209 Black Branch Road, Dillon, SC.
