Coroner Identifies Victim In Dillon Shooting (with 2 updates)

Coroner Donnie Grimsley has identified the victim in the shooting on South Third Avenue in Dillon on Saturday afternoon as Shaheem Dashawn Lyons, a 17-year-old black male from Dillon. Grimsley said that Lyons died as a result of a gunshot wound. Chief David Lane told The Herald earlier today (Sunday) that there is a suspect, but no arrests have been made at this time.

A suspect is in custody in the Saturday afternoon shooting that killed a 17-year-old, according to Chief David Lane.
At press time on Monday afternoon, the name of the suspect and the charges were unavailable.
The shooting on South Third Avenue in Dillon on Saturday afternoon, Lane said.

A 21-year-old man is charged in the shooting death of a 17-year-old, according to the City of Dillon Police Department.
Stacy Malik Davis is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in the death of Shaheem Dashawn Lyons. Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley said that Lyons died as a result of a gunshot wound.
The shooting on South Third Avenue in Dillon on Saturday afternoon, according to Dillon Police Chief David Lane.
According to an announcement from House of Thomas Funeral Home, who is handling the arrangements for Lyons, “Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Mars Hill Bibleway Holiness Church, 404 S. 4th Ave., Dillon. Friends may call at 527 Beaufort St., Dillon.”
