LVHS Defeats Hannah-Pamplico (with Senior Night photos)

The Lake View Wild Gators defeated the Hannah-Pamplico Raiders 34-27 in varsity football action played in Lake View on Friday, October 13.
After holding the Raiders on fourth down, the Wild Gators took over on downs and began to march down the field. With 6:07 remaining in the first quarter, De’Ante Bridgette faked to Benji Kelley and carried the football in from the 2-yard line for the six points. The PAT failed.
With 11:51 remaining in the second quarter, once again De’Ante Bridgette faked to Benji Kelley and carried the football in for his second score of the night. The 2-point pass conversion failed.
#1 for Hannah-Pamplico got his team on the scoreboard with 6:57 remaining in the first half. The PAT was good. Lake View led 12-7.
With 6:01 remaining in the first half, Lake View bobbled the ball, and Hannah-Pamplico grabbed it.
With 1:13 remaining in the half, Lake View took over on downs and was unable to score.
The Raiders took over with 3.2 seconds remaining in the half.
At half time, Coach Johnny Dew was presented his Shrine Bowl Jacket.
Lake View’s seniors in all sports were recognized at half time.
The Wild Gators took the kick off to begin the second action of play. On the first play from scrimmage, Lake View fumbled, and Hannah-Pamplico recovered it.
Lake View managed to recover the football on a fumble by Hannah-Pamplico, and turned the ball over on an interception.
With 9:53 remaining in the third quarter, #33 for Hannah-Pamplico carried the ball in for 6 points to take a 13-12 lead over Lake View. The PAT was good. Hannah-Pamplico was in the lead 14-12.
After the kick off, Benji Kelley carried for a big gain for a first down. Kelley picked up another first down. With 6:38 remaining in the third quarter, Delvon Bethea was on the receiving end of a pass for a touchdown. Lake View reclaimed the lead 18-14. Benji Kelley converted the 2-point play to give Lake View a 20-14 lead.
The Raiders’ #30 put 6 points on the scoreboard with 42 seconds remaining in the third quarter to tie the game at 20. The PAT was good. The Raiders held a slim 1-point lead.
The Wild Gators’ Albert Wheeler intercepted a pass with 8:07 remaining in the game. With 4:22 remaining in the game De’Ante Bridgette scored his third touchdown of the night to give Lake View a 26-21 lead. The PAT failed.
With 2:22 remaining in the game, the Wild Gators’ Webb Cardwell picked off a pass that Lake View would convert for 6 points on a carry by Benji Kelley with 1:45 remaining in the game. The 2-point conversion was good. Lake View led 34.-21.
Hannah-Pamplico managed to score again to close the gap to 34-27.
Lake View’s De’Ante Bridgette rushed for 83 yards and 3 touchdowns while Benji Kelley rushed for 187 yards and a touchdown.
The Wild Gators’ Tieray Blue led the defense with 18 tackles.
Lake View is 7-1 for the season and 3-0 in Region 6-A.
Lake View will be on the road this Friday as the Wild Gators travel to Creek Bridge on Friday, October 20.
