The Latta Vikings claimed a 49-14 victory over Johnsonville in varsity football action played in Latta on Friday, October 13.
The Vikings’ Dylan Carter completed 7 of 9 passes for 138 yards and 2 touchdown passes and rushed 3 times for 37 yards and a touchdown while Kendall Moultrie added 2 rushing touchdowns while carrying 10 times for 151 yards and grabbed 3 passes for 20 yards. Darius McCrae carried 4 times for 38 yards and a rushing touchdown and a 14-yard pass reception for a touchdown.
Deonte Stanley was on the receiving end of 2 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. Jamarcus Legette carried 5 times for 50 yards, and Brandon Hayes carried 5 times for 11 yards.
The Vikings’ defense was led by Deonte Stanley who had 8 tackles and 1 FR while Chandler Nolan and Chandler Mathews each had 8 tackles. Mikey Dotson added 7 tackles, and Bridges Young had 6 tackles. Kendall Moultrie had 4 tackles while Jackson Powers had 3 tackles and a FR. Brandon Page and JR McClam each added 3 tackles. Nasir Sellers, Caleb Bailey, John Malcolm George, Blake Tyler, Pierce Watson, Kiese Blake, and Brandon Hayes each had 2 tackles. Jay Bailey and A. J. Herring each had a tackle and a sack. Hayden Graham, Gavin McCrae, Rodney Hayes, John Gilliot, and Evan Worrell each had a tackle.
Latta is 6-2 for the season and 3-1 in Region 7-2A.
The Latta Vikings will travel to Mullins this Friday, October 20, at 7:30 p.m.
