Latta Shuts Out Swamp Foxes

The Latta Vikings returned home Friday, October 6, with a 23-0 shut-out in varsity football over the Marion Swamp Foxes.
The Vikings’ quarterback, Dylan Carter, completed 11 of 14 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown. He also carried the football 10 times for 110 yards.
Latta’s Kendall Moultrie scored once on the receiving end of a pass and once by rushing. Moultrie had 4 receptions for 84 yards and rushed 3 times for 18 yards and a touchdown.
Brandon Hayes picked up 107 yards on 12 carries for Latta while Jamarcus Legette picked up 21 yards on 3 carries.
Latta’s Darius McRae grabbed 3 passes for 36 yards while Deonte Stanley caught 2 passes for 13 yards and J.R. McClam picked up 5 yards on 2 receptions.
Mickey Dotson led Latta’s defense with 9 tackles and 1 sack while Levond Dingle had 6 tackles and 3 sacks. Chandler Matthews had 6 tackles and 2 sacks while Jay Bailey had 6 tackles and 1 sack. Chandler Nolan added 5 tackles and 2 sacks while Kendall Moultrie had 4 tackles and 1 interception. Jamarcus Legette had 3 tackles, 2 sacks, and l FR. Trey Anderson and Blake Tyler each had 3 tackles and 1 sack. Deonte Stanley had 2 tackles and 1 FF while J.R. McClam had 2 tackles and 1 FR. Brandon Hayes added 2 tackles while Bridges Young had 1 tackle.
The Latta Vikings are now 5-2 for the season and 2-1 in Region 7-2A. Latta will host Johnsonville Friday at 7:30 p.m.
