Latta Falls To Andrews

The Latta Vikings returned home Friday, September 22, after suffering a 35-28 heartbreak loss to Andrews.
After trailing at halftime, the Latta Vikings picked up 2 touchdowns in as many possessions to take a 21-14.
The Andrews Yellow Jackets picked up 21 points to get the win.
Dylan Carter, Latta’s quarterback, tossed 3 touchdowns in the loss. He completed 19 of 32 attempted passes. Dylan Carter also was on the receiving end of a 20-yard touchdown pass. He also carried 6 times for 28 yards.
Deonte Stanley also threw a 20-yard touchdown pass on his only pass of the evening. Stanley had 4 receptions for 134 yards and a touchdown.
Latta’s Kendall Moultrie had 6 recptions for 109 yards and a touchdown plus he had 3 carries for 1 yard.
Darius McRae had 4 catches for 100 yards and a touchdown while J.R. McClam also had 4 receptions for 31 yards.
The Vikings’ Brandon Hayes picked up 13 yards on 4 carries while Chandler Nolan picked up 5 yards on 2 carries. Nasir Sellers rushed for 4 yards on 1 carry.
Mickey Dotson and Chandler Nolan each had 13 tackles for Latta while Jay Bailey garnered 12 tackles. Blake Tyler added 8 tackles while Chandler Matthews had 7 tackles. Hayden Graham added 6 tackles for the Vikings, and Levond Dingle added another 5 tackles.
Kendall Moultrie, Tim Jones, and Deonte Stanley each had 4 tackles in the loss. Marc Legette added 3 tackles; and Trey Anderson, Jackson Powers, Brandon Hayes and Bridges Young each contributed 2 tackles.
Kiese Blake and John Malcolm George each had a tackle for the Vikings.
Latta is 4-2 for the season and 1-1 in region 7-2A.
Latta will have a bye week this week and will host Marion on Friday, October 6.
