Pilot Club Discusses Calendar

The Pilot Club of Dillon. met on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting was held at the City of Dillon Fire Deptartment. Ten members and two visitors were present. Kimmie Rice and Anna Karsteter were our guests for the evening, as we embraced both,as two candidates, for the PC of Dillon.
The building was decorated with a baby boy theme for Haley Lynn (Jeff Lynn), as the club celebrated the upcoming birth of their son, Lucas Crawford Lynn.
The meeting began as President Johnnie Luehrs called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone to our August meeting by standing and introducing themselves. All members and guests then stood as the American Flag and the SC flag pledges were recited.
Secretary Melissa Moody presented the Pilot Motto, as the newsletters were disbursed. Chris Harris led the group in The Lord’s Prayer. There was no Secretary’s report and the Treasurer’s report was given by President Luehrs.
Jamie Sue Stephens read the Pilot History minute and also added a few trivia questions.
President Johnnie discussed old business and the holiday schedule for the upcoming meetings. New business mentioned was the voting of a PI Ambassador, which will be announced at the next meeting.
The SC District of Pilot International will hold its 2017 Fall Council meeting on October 21. Several members are planning to attend.
St. Jude money was received and happy bucks were donated. In addition, President Luehrs nominated several special Pilots of the month and gave them little trinkets of appreciation.
A baby shower was then held for the mother-to-be, Haley Lynn. Various games were played (hosted by Chris Harris) and refreshments were partaken.
Haley opened numerous baby gifts and thanked everyone for their kindness. She stated that she and Jeff are ecstatic to meet their new bundle of joy on October 12!
The meeting was then dismissed.
The Pilot Club of Dillon is a non-profit organization that focuses on brain related activities such as Alzheimer’s disease, chemical dependency & traumatic brain injuries, as well as, developmental and mental disabilities.
