The Latta Vikings varsity football team defeated Creek Bridge 28-8 in Latta on Friday, August 25.
The Vikings’ quarterback, Dylan Brewer, completed 7 of 10 attempted passes for 208 yards including 3 touchdowns.
Kendall Moultrie was on the receiving end of 3 of those passes for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns. Deonta Stanley caught 2 passes for 43 yards while Darius McRae grabbed one for 45 yards and a touchdown. Nasir Sellers caught one pass for 10 yards, and Matt Clark caught one for 1 yard.
Latta’s Chandler Nolan rushed for 12 yards on 1 carry while Tysean Johnson picked up 21 yards on 3 carries. Rodney Hayes rushed for 12 yards on 2 carries.
Bridges Young led the Latta defense with 11 tackles while Chandler Matthews had 8 tackles. Josh Paige added 5 tackles for the Vikings, and Zack Jones had 3. Mikey Dotson and Pierce Watson each had 2 tackles. JR McClam had a tackle and an interception.
Jay Bailey had a sack and a tackle for Latta while Tim Jones had a fumble recovery and a tackle. Matt Walker, Brandon Page, Matt Clark, and John Grilliot each had a tackle in the game.
Latta will travel to Dillon on Friday, September 1.
