The Dillon 12 U softball team who represented not only Dillon but also South Carolina in the World Series returned home as runners-up in the World Series. In Monday, July 31, the Dillon team lost a close one 8-6 to Lancaster but bounced back on Tuesday, August 1, to hand Sumter a 10-1 loss. Dillon’s Shakinah hit a home run in this game. However, the Dillon team came up short in the Championship game against Sumter on Wednesday dropping another close one 6-3. We are proud of not only our 12 U team but of all of our softball teams from Dillon County.
