Services for Lorraine Myers Hamilton will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Latta Southern Methodist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6:00-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Home and also from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service in the fellowship hall at the church.
Mrs. Hamilton, 80, died Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
Born in Sumter County, SC, March 25, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Loring Myers and Leila Chewning Myers. She was retired from Dillon High School as an English Teacher, and was a member of Latta Southern Methodist Church where she taught sunday school. She was the widow of the late Danny Reedy Hamilton, Jr.
Survivors include her children, Lynn Hamilton Hughes and her husband, Norton of Latta, Danny Hamilton, III and his girlfriend, Kerrie Brancazio of Greensboro, NC, and Jenny Hamilton and her husband, Ewell Smith of New Orleans; grandchildren, Samantha, Gabrielle, Patrick and Daniel Hamilton, and Shuler Hughes; brother, Harry Myers of Manning, SC; sister, Marian Larisey of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
