The Junior American Legion baseball season has ended for this year, our Dillon County’s first year of participation.
Our local teams did quite well for our county.
Latta’s team stats are quite impressive as revealed in this. Pierce Watson had 51 at-bats with 21 hits of which 3 were doubles and 16 were singles.His batting average was .412. He had 7 rbi in the 15-game season in only 6 weeks.
Kody Anderson connected for 12 hits in 48 at-bats in 15 games with 4 doubles, 1 triple, and 7 singles with 15 rbi.
McLeod Carmichael had 11 hits in 38 at-bats 3 doubles, 8 singles, and 8 rbi.
Russell Rogers had 12 hits in 37 at-bats with 1 home run, 4 doubles, 7 singles, and 7 rbi with a .324 batting average.
Jackson Powers had 7 hits in 34 at-bats including a triple, a double, and 4 singles with 6 rbi.
John Malcolm George had a slugging percentage of .606 with a batting average of .394 off 13 hits in 33 at-bats with grand slam home run in game 3 of the playoffs, 4 doubles, 8 singles, and 11 rbi.
Chase Minshue had 11 hits in 32 at-bats with a batting average of .344 with 2 doubles and 3 rbi.
Chandler Matthews had 10 hits in 32 at-bats with 5 rbi, a double, and 9 singles.
Tre Anderson connected for 3 doubles, 9 singles, and 4 rbi with a batting average of .444 in 27 at-bats.
Gabe Estes had 5 hits in 12 at-bats with a batting average of .417.
Hunter Sawyer garnered 7 hits in 25 at-bats with 3 rbi off a double and 6 singles.
Jason Norton managed 2 singles in 7 at-bats with 1 rbi and a batting average of .286.
Peyton Benton connected for 2 singles and a rbi in 9 at-bats while Ian Autry manged a hit and 2 rbi in 5 at-bats. Cole Gasque also connected for a single and 3 rbi in 7 at-bats. Noah Henderson managed 2 hits and a rbi in 12 at-bats.
The Latta team had a great season while enjoying the game of baseball. Every team member contributed to the game.
