On Monday, July 10, after a delicious meal and fellowship, the members and guests of Mount Calvary Baptist Church dispersed into the respective groups of Brotherhood, WMU, and BYU.
The guest speaker for Brotherhood for the evening was Carl Moody.
Mr. Moody discussed his most recent mission trip to South Vietnam.
The ministry he serves supports two schools with 55 children in one and 160 in the other. Each school is only 18’x32′ with an 8-ft. living quarters. There are 4 classes, each 2 hours long with several shifts per day. Ninety-nine percent of the people living there can not read or write.
An 8.5-meter by 1.75-meter boat is used for hauling children to school.
Ninety-five percent of the people in this community reside in house boats and the other 5 percent live in 4’x8′ trailer house with 4 people to a trailer house.
Mr. Moody works deligiently to prevent children living there to be sold into the sex slave industry.
“It’s all about the Great Commission”, remarked Moody. “If we all work on faith-based, we can break the vicious cycle”.
There is a couple who evangelize 6 nights per week to a community of 100,000.
Mr. Moody is serving the commission that the Lord has for him. Mr. Moody continues to work to rescue the children from the sex slave industry.
