The Dillon Junior American Legion baseball team picked up a 6-4 win over Pee Dee in a game played in Dillon on Monday, June 26.
Jackson Hayes took to the mound for Dillon. He allowed 2 hits, 2 runs of which were earned, and walked 1.
Dillon’s Davis Cook picked up the win after coming into the game in the top of the first inning.
Ethan Goodale pitched 4 2/3 innings and was tagged with the loss for Pee Dee. He allowed 9 hits, 6 runs of which 5 were earned, walked 1, and struck out 5.
Pee Dee took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. However, Dillon knotted the game at 2 in the bottom of the second inning. Dillon added 2 runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third inning. Pee Dee tacked on a run in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to only 1 run. Dillon added 2 more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, and Pee Dee managed another run in the top of the sixth.
Pee Dee committed 2 errors in the game, and Dillon was guilty of only 1.
Dillon’s Jackson Hayes doubled, singled, and picked up 2 rbi in his 3 at-bats while Jared Ivey doubled and picked up a rbi in his 2 at-bats. John Rourke was perfect at-the-plate with a single and a rbi in his one at-bat. Daniel Camp connected for 2 singles in his 4 at-bats.
Powers Rogers connected for 2 rbi and a single in his 4 at-bats for Pee Dee while Ethan Goodale doubled and picked up a rbi in his 2 at-bats. Jacob Elliott doubled twice in his 4 at-bats. Caleb Lutz garnered 2 singles in 3 at-bats.
Dillon hosted Marion on Wednesday, June 28.
