Winnie Davis Wiggins Stanton

Winnie Davis Wiggins Stanton, 89, of Dillon, SC died on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at her residence after a long illness.
Funeral services were held 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at Dillon First Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was 2:00 p.m.., Friday, June 9, 2017 at Dillon First Baptist prior to the service.
Born July 19, 1927, in Dillon, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Ellias Pearl Wiggins and Joseph Rebecca Smith Wiggins. Mrs. Stanton was a faithful member of Dillon First Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She taught Sunday School in the nursery and pre school children.
Mrs. Stanton worked as a telephone operator, then she worked for the Dillon Schools as a secretary in the Little Rock schools. Many of the students kept in touch with her for many years.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and daughter. She spent her whole life caring for her family. She and Harold Miller Stanton, Sr were married for 66 years. Her loving husband spent the last 6 years caring for her at home.
Survivors include her loving husband Harold Miller Stanton, Sr;, daughter Winna Stanton (Jessie Wayne) Miller of Dillon and son Harold Miller (Trena Rogers) Stanton, Jr of Dillon, grandchildren; Candace Jo (Bryan) Jackson of Lexington, SC, Kelli Stanton (Wren) McMeekin of Conway, SC, and Lindsey Blake Stanton of Dillon, SC and special family friend Chase Timmons. Great grandchildren; Jake Howard McMeekin, Luke Harold McMeekin, both of Conway, SC and Stone Davis Jackson of Lexington, SC. Sister; Marian Lucille Wiggins Huggins and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parent; Ellias Pearl Wiggins and Joseph Rebecca Smith Wiggins, Sisters; Annie Aby Wiggins Moody, Ruby Mae Wiggins Moody, Neva Smith Wiggins Moody, Flora Christen Wiggins Bowen, Janie Chloe Wiggins Stevens, Mary Lois Wiggins Wallace, and Dorothy Jean Wiggins Branch. Brothers; Robert Jake Wiggins, Paul Hensley Wiggins, Norman Pearl Wiggins, and Billy Joe Wiggins.
