Communities for Students of Dillon County’s First Book Initiative provides books to students to encourage them to enjoy reading during the summer months. Teachers and Reading Consultants suggested presenting second graders with their first chapter book. The Board voted to give each second grader in the county a chapter book from the Magic Treehouse Series. Pictured receiving their books are elementary principals and Superintendent Ray Rogers from District Four, students and teachers from Latta Elementary and Dillon Christian School.
