Lady Gators Lose to East Clarendon

The Lake View Lady Wild Gators returned home to Lake View on Saturday, May 6, after suffering an 8-3 class A varsity softball lower state playoff loss against East Clarendon in Turbeville.
East Clarendon’s Marleigh Floyd pitched 6 and 2/3 innings, allowed 4 hits, 3 runs of which 2 were earned, and struck out 2 to pick up the win.
Lake View was guilty of 4 errors while East Clarendon committed 2.
After 2 scoreless innings of play, East Clarendon managed to score 3 runs in the bottom of the third inning. Lake View tied the game with 3 runs in the top of the fourth. However, East Clarendon tacked on 3 runs in the bottom of the fifth and 2 more runs in the bottom of the sixth. East Clarendon’s Gracen Watts connected for a single, a double, a triple, and 2 rbi in 4 at-bats while Kinsley Driggers garnered a single and a double in 4 at-bats. Mikayla Anderson connected for 2 doubles in 3 at-bats.
