Ms. Vivian Atkinson, age 73, of Fairmont, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Fairmont.
Family will receive friends Friday evening, April 21, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. at the home of Jeff and Sherry Floyd and also from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Ms. Atkinson was born June 8, 1943 in Marion County, SC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Lester Barfield Ford.
Ms. V. as she was known employed by L&M Convenient Mart in Fairmont and Munsingwear Sportswear.
She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Cook Floyd (Jeff) of Fairmont; a brother, Tracy Wayne Ford (Susie) of Lakeview, SC; a sister, Martha Smith of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren, Michelle Smith Price (Geoff), Tyler Floyd (Caitlin), Kaitlan Floyd Berdeau (Ian) and Dylan Floyd; one great-grandchild, Charlee Floyd; special friends, Bobbie Quick Floyd and husband Ken of Fairmont and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ms. V’s Benevolent Funds BB&T Bank, c/o Sherry Cook Floyd, 5555 Stone Rd., Fairmont, NC 28340. The donations will be used to assist with missions, kids camp tuitions, elderly expenses income issues plus other needs in the community as they arise.
