Mary Lillian Baxley Norris

Mary Lillian Baxley Norris, 92, died Friday, April 14, 2017. Born in Cumberland County, NC she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Ella Whittington Baxley. She was the widow of Leo Edward “Gabby” Norris. She was a seamstress for more than 50 years. She was a member of Cheraw Church of God where she had served formally as Secretary, Sunday School teacher and with the children’s music. She enjoyed cooking (making biscuits and sharing them), reading her Bible and doing word search puzzles. Mrs. Norris was a gentle lady and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Surviving are her children, sons, Jimmy Leo (Ann) Norris of Wallace, SC, William “Billy” Lester (Gail) Norris of Wallace, SC, daughters, Cathy N. Leviner of Cheraw, SC, Teresa N. (Gene) Darby of Timmonsville, SC, grandchildren, Sherrye and Alley Jackson, Jamie and Brooke Norris, Rev. Billy and Beth Norris, Matt (Jennifer) Norris, Rev. Kevin and Kathy D. Rummage, Ms. Jill Rummage, Hannah Faith (Chuck) Amerson, step-grandchild, Catherine Renee (Tony) Van Derpoel, great grandchildren, Lindsay Jackson, Charlotte Jackson, Anna Norris, Evan Norris, Rae Leigh Norris, Rev. Joseph (Becca) Norris, Betsy Norris, Chris Norris, Bryan Norris, Mikaila Rummage, Madison Rummage, Micah Rummage, step- great grandchildren, Emma Horne, Ethan H. Van Derpoel, Nicholas Randon Van Derpoel, nephews Roland Hodges, Rev. Verson Hodges, Jr., Alan Herring and Tony Herring and a host of great nephews and neices
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above, a son-in-law, Randy Leviner, and great grandchildren, Rebecca Jeffords Norris and Allie Grace Rummage.
The family will receive friends 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, Monday, April 17, 2017 at Cheraw Church of God.
A funeral service washeld 12:00 noon, Monday, April 17, 2017 at Cheraw Church of God.
Burial was held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Dillon, SC (Approximately at 2:30 PM).
