Latta Softball Team Gets Win Over Marion

Latta’s Hannah Jackson pitched the complete 7-inning game and captured an 8-2 win over Marion in a varsity softball game played in Latta on Wednesday, April 12.
Jackson allowed 8 hits, 2 runs of which both were earned, walked 1, and struck out 1 in the win.
Marion’s Carson Cribb suffered the loss having pitched only 1/3 of an inning. She allowed 2 hits and 3 runs of which 2 were earned. M. Waugh also pitched 5.2 innings for the Lady Swamp Foxes and gave up 12 hits, 5 runs of which 4 were earned, and walked 3.
The Latta Lady Vikings were guilty of 3 errors while the Marion Lady Swamp Foxes committed only 1.
Latta jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Latta added a run in the bottom of the second inning, and another run in the bottom of the third inning to close out the scoring for Latta.
Marion managed to place 2 runs on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh inning.
The Lady Viking managed 14 hits in the game.
Macy Hyatt connected for 2 hits including a home run and picked up 2 rbi plus a walk in her 4 trips to the plate for Latta while Kyra Grant picked up 2 rbi on 1 hit in 3 at-bats. Genesis Anderson garnered a hit and a rbi in her 4 at-bats while Bailey Wiggins also picked up a rbi and 2 hits in 3 at-bats for the Lady Vikings. Lauren Webster and Kaylie Miller each got a hit in 1 a-bat. Riana Green managed 2 hits in 3 at-bats while Camryn Sawyer connected for 2 hits in 4 at-bats. Macy Owens also managed a hit in 4 at-bats.
Kaitlyn Larrimore connected for 3 hits in 4 at-bats including a double and a rbi for Marion. L. Harrelson garnered 2 hits and a rbi in 4 at-bats. K. Crowner, K. Evans, and C. Cribb each got a hit in 3 at-bats for the Lady Swamp Foxes.
Latta is 15-6 for the season and 9-2 in Region 7-2A.
Latta traveled to Johnsonville on Thursday, April 13.
