Lake View Gets Win Over East Clarendon

The Lake View Wild Gators took a 13-3 win over East Clarendon in a 10-rule shortened 5-inning game played in Lake View on Thursday, April 6. The Wild Gators’ Nick Collins pitched the 5-inning game and allowed 2 hits, 3 earned runs, walked 3, and struck out 6. East Clarendon’s Evans was tagged with the loss. He pitched 4 innings, allowed 3 hits, 5 runs of which 3 were earned, walked 7, and struck out 4. Lake View did not commit any errors in the game while East Clarendon was guilty of 4. Lake View took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. East Clarendon placed a run on the scoreboard in the top of the second inning to knot the game at 1. Lake View added another run in the bottom of the second inning to take a 2-1 lead. The Wild Gators added another run in the bottom of the third inning. East Clarendon put 2 more runs on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning to tie the game at 3. However, Lake View connected for 2 runs in the bottom of the fourth and added 8 runs in the bottom of the fifth to close out the win.
Lake View garnered 10 hits in the game while holding East Clarendon to only 2 hits. Deante Bridgett connected for 2 hits including a home run and 2 rbi in his 4 at-bats while Brent Herlong garnered 1 hit and 4 rbi in his 4 at-bats for Lake View. Lake View is 10-2 for the season. The Lake View Wild Gators hosted Hemingway on April 11.
