Dear Editor:
I feel so honored to have been chosen by a previous Governor of the great State of South Carolina to receive The Order of Palmetto, the highest citizen award of the Palmettes to State. This was also in addition to receiving the Palmetto Patriotic award from our Lt. Governor for services rendered to the citizens as well. These awards, along with other special recognitions, were presented while serving our people as Coroner during 12 years. It was an honor and privilege to accomplish these services to benefit our citizens.
I know there has been many over the years to have received The Order of Palmetto and would join me in requesting our State Legislators to authorize a bill or order permitting the South Carolina Highway Department to issue the license plate with proof of being the recipient of same. I would like to have the one to read Order of Palmetto 08, indicating Berkeley County.
I am asking the Editors of newspapers in six major markets of South Carolina to please publish this letter, in the interest of their readers, to see if the qualified persons would also be interested, and, if so, to contact their Legislators or write or contact me at the address, phones, or email listed below, and I will do it for you.
I would like to thank each Editor of their newspapers for making it possible to reach the appropriate persons. This would be a great honor to some very special people. Again, thank you.
