Andrews Defeats
Latta Softball Team

Andrews rode into Latta on Friday, March 31, to face Latta in a varsity girls softball game and left Latta with a 3-1 victory.
Andrews’ Carlie McCants pitched the complete 7-innng game and allowed 6 hits, 1 run of which was earned, walked 1, and struck out 7 to pick up the win.
Latta’s Arica Gandy also pitched the complete 7-inning game and allowed 5 hits, 3 runs of which 2 were earned, walked no one, and struck out 3 and was tagged with the loss.
Macy Hyatt garnered 2 hits and a rbi in 3 at-bats for the Vikings.
Latta is 8-6 for the season.
The Latta Viking ssoftball team traveled to Hartsville on Monday, April 3.

Aynor Edges
Out Dillon, 6-5

Aynor edged Dillon 6-5 in the bottom of the eighth inning in walk-off fashion in a varsity baseball game played in Aynor on Friday, March 31.
The winning pitcher was L. Martin.
Jon-Mitchell Carter picked up the loss for Dillon.
Dillon scored 1 run in the top of the first inning to take a short-lived lead before Aynor picked up 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning to take the lead.
Dillon quickly tied the game with 2 runs in the top of the second inning.
The score remained knotted at 3 for the next 2 innings.
Aynor added 2 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 5-3 lead before Dillon added a run in the top of the sixth inning and another run in the top of the seventh inning to once again knot the score.
Aynor was unable to score in the bottom of the seventh inning to force an extra inning of play.
Tramele McKoy garnered a rbi and 2 hits in 3 at-bats for Dillon while Jordan Hyatt connected for 1 hit and 2 rbi.
Dillon will host Loris this evening (Tuesday, April 4)

Lake View Gets 8-3
Win Over Green Sea

The Lake View Wild Gators traveled to Green Sea Floyds and returned home with an 8-3 win in varsity baseball action played on Friday, March 31.
Duane Nichols picked up the win while pitching 5 and1/3 innings. He allowed 5 hits and struck out 4. Brent Herlong garnered a save by pitching 1 and 2/3 innings. He allowed zero hits and struck out 4.
Deante Bridgett connected for 3 hits and 2 rbi in 4 at-bats for the Wild Gators while Webb Cardwell managed 2 hits and a rbi in 3 at bats. Brent Herlong garnered 1 hit and 3 rbi in 4 at-bats.
Lake View traveled to Trinity Byrnes on Monday, April 3.

Latta Defeats Dillon In Baseball
The Latta Vikings never trailed after takinbg a 2-0 lead on a single by McLeod Carmichael in the bottom of the second inning to hand the visiting Dillon Wildcats a 6-1 loss.
Latta’s Dylan Brewer pitched 4 innings and struck out 6, allowed 2 hits, an earned run, and walked 2 to capture the win.
Dawson Dove pitched 3 and 1/3 innings for Dillon and was tagged with the loss. He allowed 9 hits, 5 runs of which 4 were earned, and walked 1.
Dillon committed the only error in the game.
Latta managed also to score 2 runs in the bottom of the third inning, 1 run in each of the fourth and sixth innings.
Dillon’s only score came in the bottom of the fourth inning and was off a single by Noah Carter, a walk by Ladarious “Pee Wee” Wilson, a sacrifice bunt by Davis Cook, a walk by Jackson Hayes to load the bases, and a rbi single by Jordan Hyatt.
The Latta Vikings connected for 11 hits in the game led by McLeod Carmichael with 3 singles and 2 rbi in 4 at-bats. Russ Rogers connected for 2 singles and a rbi in 3 at-bats while Dylan Brewer and Deonte Stanley each singled and picked up a rbi in 2 at-bats. Pierce Watson singled twice in 3 at-bats while Kody Anderson garnered a single in 2 at-bats. John Malcolm George also singled in 4 at-bats.
Latta is 9-4 for the season and 5-1 in Region 7-2A.
Dillon is 5-8 for the season and 1-3 in Region 6-3A.
Dillon traveled to Aynor on Friday, March 31, while Latta hosted Andrews.
