Wildcats Baseball Comes From Behind To Beat Hannah-Pamplico

The Dillon Wildcats varsity baseball team came from behind in the top of the seventh to edge Hannah-Pamplico 12-11 in a game played in Pamplico on Friday, March 10.
Jon-Mitchell Carter picked up the win for Dillon while pitching 2 and two-thirds innings. He allowed a hit, a run, and struck out 5.
John Murtha was tagged with the loss. He pitched 3 innings and allowed 4 hits, 5 runs of which 4 were unearned, walked 2, and struck out 1.
The Wildcats scored 1 run in the top of he first inning to take an early short-lived lead before Hannah-Pamplico tacked on 4 runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Dillon managed to put 4 runs on the scoreboard in the top of the second inning only to have Hannah-Pamplico add 3 more runs to their total to take a 7-5 lead after 2 innings.
Hannah-Pamplico 2 more runs in the bottom of the third and another run in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 10-4 lead.
Dillon tacked on 2 runs in the top of the fifth and another run in the top of the sixth inning to close the gap to 2 runs with Hannah-Pamplico leading 10-8.
The Wildcats managed to put 4 runs on the scoreboard in the top of the seventh to take a 12-10 lead going into the last at-bat for Hannah-Pamplico who put another run on the scoreboard to end the game with a 12-11 victory for Dillon.l
Ty’Quan Rogers went 2 for 2 including a double for the Wildcats with 3 rbi while Davis Cook went 2 for 4 with a double and 2 rbi. Ladarius Wilson and Andrew Rowell each picked a rbi and 1 hit in 4 at-bats. Ian Patterson managed 2 hits in 3 at-bats while Jackson Hayes picked up a triple in 3 at-bats.
McKinley Turner and Gray Watson each had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with a rbi to lead Hannah-Pamplico. Mason Hicks managed 2 hits in his 4 at-bats while Carson Mays connected for a double and a rbi in 3 at-bats. John Murtha garnered a hit and a rbi in 4 at-bats.
Dillon is now 3-3 for the season.
Dillon will travel to Waccamaw at 6:30 p.m. today (Tuesday, March 14).
