Warriors Receive Championship Rings

The Dillon Christian School Warriors varsity football and cheerleading teams received their state championship rings and pendants Tuesday night at Warrior Gymnasium.  Matt Adams opened the event with prayer followed by comments from Athletic Director Christian Wolfe. Coach Wolfe gave thanks to his coaching staff adding without their help this event would not have been possible. Matt Adams returned to the podium to introduce the B-Team players and present awards. Logan Jones received the coach’s award, Gabe Bissell received the lineman award, Austin Heasley received the Warrior award, Caleb Boykin received the defensive award and Sam Irvin received the most improved award. Coach Wolfe and Assistant AD D. Conn presented the cheerleaders and their coaches with beautiful pendants. Thirty football players and one team manager made their way to the podium to receive their rings. Receiving rings were Diaz Alexander, Demontez Alford, Mason Bailey, Gage Bazemore, Daniel Camp, Zane Caughill, Barnes Causey, Samuel Coleman, Garret Collins, Jared Darmon, Bryan Davis, Jacob Dubose, Ereck Eck, Dallas Feeko, Mathew Fitzgibbon, Collin Hamilton, Hamilton Hodges, Jared Ivey, Michael Minges, Andrew Patterson, Bradley Patterson, Evan Paul, Luke Price, John Rourke, Nick Smith, Tyreke Toomer, Corbin Wethington, Liam White, Jackson Wolfe and Hardy Tippett. Coach Wolfe made it clear that no one was to open their boxes until all awards were given out and everyone would open theirs at the same time. Ten varsity players were honored with one or more awards. Tyreke Toomer received the senior award, all region award, SCISA all-star award and was recognized as a North-South All-Star player, Michael Minges received the MVP award, all-region award, SCISA All-Star award, played in the North – South All-Star game, High School Sports Report All-State and SCISA Player of the year, TV 15 End Zone Award, Diaz Alexander received the offensive MVP award, all-region award, High School Sports Report All-State, TV 15 End-Zone Award, Garret Collins received the junior award and all region award, High School Sports Report All State,  Evan Paul received the lineman award and all region award, Jackson Wolfe received the most improved award, all region award, High School Sports Report All Star award, Luke Price received the defensive MVP award, all region award, North- South All Star player, TV 15 End Zone Award, SCISA All-Star, High School Sports Report All State, News 13 Blitz Team, Defensive Player of the Year, Gage Bazemore received the sophomore award, Mathew Fitzgibbon received the Warrior award and Walt Bailey received the Freshman award. Those in attendance closed the event with applause for the players, coaches and cheerleaders
