Dillon High Softball In Pursuit Of A Championship Run This Season

Dillon High School softball Coach Michael Kelvin Roller will have eight returning starters from last year’s squad to again begin the pursuit of another championship run. Although Coach Roller has 5 years of softball coaching experience, he has been head coach at Dillon High School for 2 years, both of which have been very successful. Last year’s record was 22 wins with only 7 losses.
Dillon is blessed with an experienced team all over the line up.
Dillon only lost 3 players from last year’s squad. Dillon will be looking for someone to step us as shortstop and in the corner outfield to have a more balanced attack.
Eight grader Jayla Goodwin has joined the team.
After losing JV Coach Jamie Norris and Christine Bucy, the Dillon High School softball program has added  Norman Quick, Chessie Miller, Stevie Grice, and Ryan Young to the coaching staff.
As usual, Dillon expects to compete for the region championship and also make a run for the state championship.
Already Dillon plays one of the toughest schedules around on purpose. Georgetown has been added to the region. Dillon will also play Aynor, Hartsville, Darlington, Latta, and East Clarendon who have always been challenging foes.
Coach Roller stated “We have an experienced team and a group of girls who have learned what we expect out of them every day to e a part of this program. Our girls accept coaching, and that’s what you have to have to improve individually and as a team. We challenge ourselves with a tremendous schedule that we feel will make up better in the time of the year when it really counts.”
