Wildcats Defeat Vikings
The Dillon Wildcats defeated the Latta Vikings 84-50 in a varsity basketball game played in Latta on Thursday, January 5.
Dillon outscored Latta in every period while being led by Keenan Norman with a game-high 19 points.  He was followed in scoring by Rasheem McClam who added 14 in the victory.
The Wildcats led 26-18 after the first period.  In the second period the Wildcats increased the lead 46-28. After three periods of play Dillon’s lead was 63-39.
Ty Porter added 12 while Rakeem Fletcher connected for 10 points. Boatwright hit for 7 while Brookins added 5. Williams garnered 4 points, and Jacobs hit for 3. Green, Samuel, and Cannaday each had 2 points in the win for the ‘Cats.
Darius McRae and Alex Berry each had 11 points for the Latta Vikings. Siephe Rogers and Davonta Porter each connected for 10 points. Braddy added 3 while Jones and Legette each had 2. Stanley also scored 1 point.
Dillon hosted Marlboro County on Friday, January 6, at 6:00 p.m. while Latta hosted Marion at 6:00 p.m.

Lady Cats Defeat Latta Vikings
The Dillon Lady Wildcats defeated the Latta Lady Vikings 56-25 in varsity basketball action in a game played on Thursday, January 5, in Latta.
Dillon controlled the game by outscoring Latta in every period.
Dillon led 13-5 after the first period. At halftime Dillon led 25-13. The Dillon girls increased the lead to 37-20 after 3 periods of play.
The Wildcats’ Khamele Manning scored a game-high 22 points in the victory while Amanda Harley hit for 10. Bell added 7 while T. McCrimmon hit for 6 points. Graves added 5, and Campbell and McCrea each had 2 points.
The Vikings were led by Moya McDuffie with 13 points. Arica Gandy added 5 while Green connected for 4 points. Nowlin had 2 points, and James scored 1 point.
Dillon is 4-1 for te season while Latta is 3-5 and 2-1 in Region 7-2A.
Dillon hosted Marlboro County, and Latta hosted Marion on Friday, January 6, at 6:00 p.m.

Lady Wildcats Defeat
Marlboro County
The Lady Wildcats defeated Marlboro County 60-51 in varsity basketball action in a game played in Bennettsville on Friday, January 6.
The ‘Cats Khamele Manning connected for a game-high 13 points in the victory.

Wildcats Hand Marlboro County A Loss
The Dillon Wildcats traveled to Bennettsville on Friday, January 6, and handed Marlboro County a 72-44 loss in boys varsity basketball action.
Javier Brookins led the Wildcats with a game-high 16 points.
Keenan Norman connected for 13 points, and Rakeem Flecher pumped in 11 for the Wildcat victory.

Latta Boys Lose To Marion
The Latta Vikings lost to the Marion Swamp Foxes 62-50 in boys varsity basketball action on Friday, January 6, in Latta.
The Vikings’ Kendall Moultrie scored a game-high 20 points in the loss.
The Swamp Foxes were led in scoring by B. J. Blue with 14 points while JaQuan Felton added 13 points in the win.
Yaquan Genwright also connected for 13 points plus 10 rebounds for Marion.

Lady Swamp Foxes Defeat Lady Vikings
The Marion Lady Swamp Foxes defeated the Latta Lady Vikings 59-43 in varsity basketball action played Friday, January 6, in Latta.
Marion took a 16-7 lead after the first period. At halftime Marion led 33-15. After 3 periods of play Marion’s lead was 47-25.
The Vikings were led in scoring by Moya McDuffie with 19 points. Riana Green added 15 while Arica Gandy connected for 4 points, and James 3 points. Burdsail hit for 2 points in the loss.
Marion’s Ariaher Morrisey scored a game-high 22 points. Precious Davis hit for 10, and Britt garnered 9 points in the win for Marion while Johnson go t5. Godbolt and Williams each connected for 4. Bethea added another 3, and Peterson got 2 points.
Latta is 3-6 and 2-2 in Region 7-2A.
Latta will host Carvers Bay today (Tuesday) at 6:00 p.m.

Pee Dee Defeats Lake View
The Pee Dee Lady Eagles defeated the Lake View Lady Wild Gators 46-40 in a varsity basketball game played in Mullins on Thursday, January 5.
Pee Dee Academy outscored Lake View 16-11 in the first period. At halftime the Eagles led 21-15. After 3 periods of play Lake View closed the gap to 4 points, 30-26. Pee Dee Academy managed to outscore Lake View 16-14 in the final period of play.
Oliver McDaniel led Lake View with a game-high 20 points. Ja. Ford added 9 and Jas. Ford added 7. Wheeler hit for 4 in the loss.
Lindsey Martin had 19 points in the win for the Falcons. Meg Martin hit for 12 while Carter connected for 6. Brown added 5, and Scott and Grice each hit for 2 points.
Lake View is 1-1 for the season.
Pee Dee Academy is 8-2, 0-2 SCISA 4-2A.
Lake View traveled to Loris on Friday, January 6, at 6:00 p.m. while Pee Dee Academy traveled to Marlboro Academy.

Kingstree Defeats Latta, 58-52
Kingstree defeated Latta 58-52 in a varsity basketball game played in Kingstree on Wednesday, January 4.
Davonta Porter led Latta with 14 points followed by Kendall Moultrie, Deonte Stanley,  and Darius McRae who each had 11 points. Braddy added 3 and Hall connected for 2 points in the loss.
Quinten Alson led Kingstree wtih 24 points followed by Koby Fulton with 13. Jordan Canty connected for 10 while Washington hit for 3 points. Price, Wilson, and McGee each had 2 points. Green connected for 1 point.
Latta hosted Dillon on Thursday, January 5.

Lady Gators Defeat South  Robeson
The Lake View Lady Wild Gators defeated South Robeson of North Carolina 38-26 in varsity basketball action on Tuesday, January 4, in Lake View.
Oliver McDaniel led the Gators with 16 points while Jasmine Ford hit for 10 points in the victory.
Lake View took a commanding  12-2 lead after the first period and continued to add the score in the second period.  By halftime Lake View led 23-2.
South Robeson outscored Lake View 10-7 in the third period and in the fourth period 14-8.
Blue added 4 points while M. Wheeler, T. Wheeler, Bethea, and Miller each connected for 2 points in the win for the Wild Gators.
Lewis had 7 points to lead South Robeson while Page and Troy each connected for 4 points. Werrell added 3 points, and Ellerbe, Simms, McLeod, and Witherspoon each had 2 points.
Lake View is 1-0 for the season.
The Wild Gators played at Pee Dee Academy on Thursday, January 5.

Carolina Academy Defeats Dillon Christian School

The Carolina Academy varsity boys- basketball team defeated the Dillon Christian School  Warriors  66-55 Friday night in Dillon at Warrior Gymnasium.
Historically the Warriors have not played well after the Christmas break and Friday night the Warriors looked sluggish. Coach Bo Stone should have them back on track by next week.
The Bobcats led 13-11 by the end of the first quarter and took a narrow 25-24 lead over the Warriors into the halftime break. In the second half the Bobcats began to pull away holding a 46-36 lead as the third period ended. The Bobcats picked up 20 points in the fourth quarter with the Warriors getting 19 to give the Bobcats the 66-55 region win. Scoring for the Bobcats, Will Epps had 24 points, Ben Lamb had 20 points, Josh Weaver had 11 points, Will Mathews had four points and Mathew Lamb had three points. Scoring for the Warriors, Demontez Alford had 16 points, Ross Carlyle had 15 points, Diaz Alexander had ten points, Jackson Wolfe had eight points, Luke Price had four points and Michael Minges had two points.

Warriors Take On DCS

The Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors were down Friday night in Dillon for most of the game against the Lady Bobcats of Carolina Academy but never quit and fought their way back in the fourth quarter to get a 40-39 win over this region foe.
This is without a doubt the best Lady Warrior team to come on the court in several years.
The first quarter was close with the Bobcats taking an 8-7 lead. By the halftime break the Bobcats had increased this lead to 20-11.
The Warriors began to creep back into the game in the third quarter but still trailed 24-17 at the end of the quarter. The Warriors caught fire in the final period outscoring the Bobcats 23-15 to get the hard earned 40-39 region win.
Scoring for the Bobcats, Hannah Weaver had 18 points, Morgan Martin had 10 points, Mallory Ward, Madison Lee and Lydia Durant had two points each. Scoring for the Warriors, Samantha Carpenter had 14 points, Anna Thompson had 12 points, Sarah Freeman had five points, Sarah Stone had four points and Lizzie Outlar had two points.

Warrior JV Girls Lose Heartbreaker to Carolina Academy

The Dillon Christian School Warrior junior varsity girl’s- basketball team lost by a score of 25-24 to the JV girls of Carolina Academy Friday night in Dillon at Warrior Gymnasium.
The Warriors took an early lead but the Bobcats hung around and came back in the second half to get the one point win. The Warriors led 11-4 at the end of the first quarter and took a 17-13 lead into the halftime break.
The Bobcats picked up eight points in the third quarter holding the Warriors to three ending the period up 21-20. Both teams managed four points in the final period giving the Bobcats the 25-24 victory. Scoring for the Warriors, August Smith had 19 points, Shayla Hunt had three points and Sarah Martin had two points.

Warrior JV Boys Get 50-48 Win Over Bobcats
The Dillon Christian School JV boys basketball team held on to get a 50-48 win over the JV boys of Carolina Academy Friday Night in Dillon. At the end of the first quarter the Bobcats led the Warriors 10-8 but the Warriors took a 21-20 lead into the halftime break.
The Warriors outscored the Bobcats 21-14 in the third quarter to up their lead to 42-34.
The fourth quarter belonged to the Bobcats putting up 16 points holding the Warriors to 8 but it was just not enough as the Warriors held onto get the 50-48 win. Scoring for the Warriors, Walt Bailey had 23 points, Ian Bethea had 15 points, Caleb Boykin and Hunter McDuffie had four points each and Jason Chen and Mason Bailey had two points each.

Lady Wildcats Defeat Aynor
The Dillon Lady Wildcats defeated Aynor 91-7 in a varsity basketball game played in Dillon on Tuesday, January 10.
Khamele Manning led in the Lady Wildcats offensive showing with 22 points while Amanie Harley and Kyia Bell each added 14 points in the win.
Eight Dillon players contributed points in the victory while six were in double figures. Tazia Gordon hit for 12 points while Adoshia Graves and Chyna Pouncy each had 10 points for the Lady Cats. Sowells connected for 5 points, and Campbell had 4.
Dillon will host Lake City on Friday, January 13, at 6:00 p.m.

Lady Cats Defeat Lady Panthers
The Dillon Lady Wildcats defeated the Lake City Panthers 46-17 in varsity basketball action in Dillon on Friday, January 13.
After one period of play the Lady Wildcats held a commanding 14-2 lead. At halftime the lead was 27-7. At the end of the third period Dillon was up by 30 points, 40-10.
J. McCrimmon led the Lady Wildcats with 14 points followed by A. Harley who added 12 points. T. Gordon hit for 6 points while Khamele Manning and K. Bell each connected for 5 points. N. Campbell added another 3 points, and C. Pouncy sank a free throw for another point.
Dillon will travel to Georgetown today, Tuesday, January 17, at 6:00 p.m.

Wildcats Lose To Lake City
The Dillon Wildcats lost 58-55 to Lake City on Friday, January 13, in varsity basketball action in a game played in Dillon.
Dillon controlled the opening tip-off. The action was fast and furious.
Dillon led for three periods of play in the closely contested game before being outscored in the fourth period. Dillon led 21-11after the first period. At halftime Dillon’s lead was cut to 3 points, 29-26. After 3 periods of play Dillon was up by 5 at 45-40. With only 3:01 remaining in the game Dillon held a slim lead 50-49.
With 2:02 remaining in the game Dillon was behind by 3 points, 52-49.
The ‘Cats began to foul after dropping behind and found themselves down by 5 points with only 1:44 remaining in the game. Dillon continued to foul and with 1:16 remaining Dillon was down by 6 points, 55-49.
Darius Boatwright and Keenan Norman each had 14 points in the loss for the ‘Cats while Javier Brookins connected for 10 points. Raheem McClam connected for 7 points, and Ty’Quan Porter, Ty’Quaries Rogers, RaKeem Flecher, and Jalen Williams each had 2 points in the loss for the ‘Cats.
Tyrek Epps scored a game-high 13 points, and Vence Hanna had 12 points in the win for Lake City.
Dillon will travel to Georgetown today, Tuesday, January 17.

Hemingway Defeats Lake View
The Hemingway Tigers defeated the Lake View Wild Gators 51-39 in varsity girls basketball on Friday, January 13, in Hemingway.
Hemingway led 12-7 after the first period of play. At halftime, the Tigers held a 9-point lead, 23-14. The third period was close as Hemingway only outscored Lake View by 1 point, 15-14 but still held a 10-point lead, 38-28.
Ronishia Holmes led Hemingway with a game-high 14 points.
Wykasha Space not only added 13 points but she also pulled down 10 rebounds for Hemingway. Jazaria Eaddy connected for 10 points, and Stokes added another 5 points in the win. Smith contributed 4 points while Johnson had 3 and Dollard had 2.
The Gators’ Olivia McDaniels pumped in 20 points while Ja. Ford connected for 9. Wheeler had 7 points, Bethea added another 2, and Ford got 1 point. Lake View will host Hannah Pamplico today (Tuesday, January 17) at 6:00 p.m.
